Class Descriptions

We offer a wide selection of classes to suit all ages and abilities.

BodyPump

BodyPump is the World's first class to combine high repitition weight training with aerobic conditioning.  It will tone, strengthen and condition your whole body.  Can help you lose weight, and above all else is a fun and motivating workout. 

Be warned...BODYPUMP WILL CHANGE THE SHAPE OF YOUR BODY!!! 

BodyPump & Body Combat Technique Session

A 15 minute pre-class session that goes through techniques specific to BodyPump or Body Combat. 

ALL BEGINNERS ARE RECOMMENDED TO COME TO A TECHNIQUE SESSION BEFORE YOUR FIRST BODYPUMP OR BODYCOMBAT CLASS!

BodyBalance

BodyBalance is a dynamic yoga-based stretch programme that also combines the principles of Pilates and Tai Chi.  Approaching the mind and body to achieve overall fitness, BodyBalance invigorates and tones releasing tight, tense muscles and leaving you in a state of energised calm.  It also encourages good posture, increases core (stomach and back) stability and improves co-ordination and balance.

BodyCombat

BodyCombat is a complete cardiovascular all-body workout.  The combination of no contact kicking and punching, coupled with controlled breathing techniques means that it tones and strengthens, while burning large amounts of calories!  This class will increase cardiovascular fitness, improve co-ordination, muscle strength posture and flexibility.

YOU WILL BE FIGHTING FIT IN NO TIME!

Aerobics, Aerobics & Tone, Tums & Bums, Cardio Sculpt

A combination of cardiovascular and resistance work to help burn calories, tone up and lose weight.  It will also help increase fitness and flexibility.  Each class will target different fitness levels and there is a class suitable for all abilities.

Step & Sculpt, Tone, Power Step 

A Combination of cardiovascular and resistance work using a step block, to help burn calories, tone up and lose weight.  Each class will vary in intensity and is suitable for intemidiate/advanced levels.

Circuits

A fun intense multi station class that is designed to increase cardiovascular fitness, muscle strength/tone and burn calories.  Suitable for all, this class is a must for people who want a cardio workout without having to think about co-ordination!

Pilates

Pilates (pronounced pil-ah-tayes) is a mat based multi muscle exercise technique which helps correct postural alignment and strengthen core stomach and back muscles.  Performed using controlled breathing to promote well-being, flexibility, stress relief and relaxation.

Yoga

Yoga for health, following traditional principles of Hatha Yoga.  Suitable for beginner level only.  For intermediate and advance levels, Yoga is also availbale as a course.  Please contact reception for more details.

Active Life 50+

A class for the over fifties that aims to increase cardiovascular fitness, muscular endurance and flexibility.  Comes under our Active Life activity session.

Ladies Active Lifestyle

Ladies only class, that comes under our Ladies Active Lifestyle session.  Please be aware that some of the classes may be taken by male instructors.

Ladies Leisure sessions are higlighted with an L/L next to the relevant class on the Workout Timetable.

Please note that these classes are not bookable and are available on a first come, first served basis.
